GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame Inductee and Dove Award-winner, Andraé Crouch has passed away at the age of 72. The gospel music community mourns this great loss and remembers the legacy of one of its trailblazers.
At the age of just 14 Crouch wrote his first song which would eventually lead to him penning such classic hymns as Soon and Very Soon, Through It All, Take Me Back and The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power. Crouch’s ministry continues to impact thousands of lives through his songs and recorded music.
Crouch was first recognized by his peers with a Dove Award in 1977 for the album, This is Another Day. He was also celebrated through his induction into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1998.

The world has benefited from his God-given talent and the many groundbreaking songs that have inspired generations. We pay tribute to Andraé Crouch, one of our GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductees, celebrate his great legacy and offer our prayers and condolences to his family at this solemn time.” says Jackie Patillo, Executive Director of the Gospel Music Association.
Crouch left an indelible mark on the industry and many of today’s artists, songwriters, pastors and worship leaders. With the news of his passing, several of those influenced by Crouch’s music shared their memories and mourning on social media:
