(New York, NY Aug 22 2018) Urban contemporary superstar and singer-songwriter Jonathan McReynolds will appear on TBN’s “Praise” this Thursday, August 23rd, alongside fellow gospel star Brian Courtney Wilson. On the show, Jonathan will speak with host Donnie McClurkin on a variety of topics concerning faith and music, and perform fan favorite “Cycles,” as well as hit single “Not Lucky, I’m Loved” which is currently still in the top 5 in Billboard’s Gospel singles almost a year after its release.
Jonathan’s appearance on Praise continues a string of recent high-profile media appearances including last week’s appearance on Fox Good Day NY, and a performance on Paste Magazine’s live session series. At Paste, Jonathan performs live rarity “Comparison Kills,” a track from his current album “Make Room” which he notes he has not played live since the album’s recording. Check out the full session from Paste Magazine on their website here.
The landmark album from which these singles are taken, “Make Room,” is entering its 20th week in the top ten of Soundscan’s Gospel charts, landing at #3 in Top Gospel Consumption and #6 in Nielsen’s Current Gospel Charts. “Make Room,” released last March, is an album of all-new original material from the young artist, recorded completely live at a May 2017 concert in Jonathan’s hometown of Chicago, which was the basis of his TV and digital streaming special “Jonathan McReynolds: Make Room.” The special had its national broadcast premiere on TVOne in March, followed by a June exclusive digital premiere in partnership with global streaming giants TIDAL.
Jonathan has also been tapped to appear at the Black Music Honors in Nashville to honor gospel legends Bebe and Cece Winans, set to air later in September.
Next month, Jonathan will embark on his headlining “Make Room” tour, which has already sold out more than half of its originally-announced dates, including Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Georgia, and Virginia dates. Upon its debut, “Make Room” landed in the #1 slot on Billboard’s Gospel Album Charts and #2 on Top Christian/Gospel albums, as well as breaking into the mainstream at #27 on Top Albums and #97 on Hot 200. Jonathan’s last album, 2015’s “Life Music: Stage Two,” spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Gospel chart. The album is still in Soundscan’s Gospel top ten.
