The public chapel was sponsored by IndyCar Ministry, K-LOVE and Cooper Tires.

The parade, which ran through downtown Indianapolis, was celebrated with 300,000 people lining the streets, while more than a million watched on TV. Tibbs was also able to enjoy the race with his wife, Emily, as they joined the sell-out crowd of more than 350,000 people to watch the 100th running of the Indy 500.
