HOLLYN Will Be a Special Guest on the TobyMac Hits Deep 2016 Tour
NASHVILLE, TENN. (December 09, 2015) Gotee Records’ newest artist HOLLYN celebrates her first No. 1 single as her debut single “Alone (feat. TRU)” shot up to the top of the Hot AC/CHR chart in just six weeks. Making Christian radio chart history with 95 percent of the Hot AC/CHR panel adding the single out of the box on October 31, this song will be going for adds at AC radio on January 15, 2016. The debut single was co-written by HOLLYN, TobyMac, producer Bryan Fowler and TRU. Watch the lyric video for this hit song.
“Alone” has also received strong response on Spotify® since its debut as it was featured on the “Spotify Today’s Top Hits” playlist. In addition the song charted on the United States Viral 50 and Global Viral 50 chart playlists as well as crossed a half million plays. HOLLYN was the only Christian-based artist featured on these lists. Hollyn released her six-song EP digitally earlier this fall. The EP will be an exclusive retail release at Lifeway Stores in early February.
Fans on iTunes have left reviews and comments stating that HOLLYN and her music is a “unique voice that brings something new to the Christian genre,” that there should “definitely be more Christian music like this out there” and just “what we need – upbeat music to worship Jesus.” Media have also praised HOLLYN:
“If you like female-driven vocals overlaying bumping pop and hip hop tracks, then her superbly produced debut self-titled EP is for you. This initial offering is power-packed with all the ingredients of a superstar in the making, and we’re already eager for more material!” – CCM Magazine
“Hollyn crafts both lyrics and beats that are stronger than some more experienced artists in her genre. While there is still a good amount of fine tuning to do when it comes to nailing down her specific sound, I suspect we’ll be seeing incredible things from Hollyn.” – NewReleaseToday
“Hollyn is an artist you will surely want to follow as her journey unfolds. The six songs on this EP are a great beginning to her career. The talent she has, and the great messages she shares through her well crafted lyrics, are sure to draw new listeners in.” – The Christian Beat
“The EP as a whole does what any great introduction does: leaves the listener wanting more, and gives a satisfying taste of what the artist can do. With a creative sound, impressive vocals, and honest lyrics, Hollyn is a fresh talent I can’t wait to hear more from.” – JesusFreakHideout
About HOLLYN:
Hailing from Ohio, raised in the church and on the Southern Gospel music greats, this American Idol alum has been working the past two years on her national debut. Hollyn has a style all her own and her new single is a perfect showcase of her talent.
Listeners were introduced to this vibrant young lady on TobyMac’s newest release with the songs “Lights Shine Bright” and “Backseat Driver,” which she is also a co-writer. As a songwriter, Hollyn co-wrote five of the six tracks on her debut EP. It also features two tracks “Hey Mama” and “Nothin’ On You,” which were produced by the GRAMMY-winning production team of COBRA (Dirty Rice and Joseph Prielzony), who produced two tracks on the award winning album, Anomaly, from Lecrae. It also features a cover of Lecrae’s Dove Award winning song, “All I Need Is You.”
