Seven-time GRAMMY® winner Israel Houghton and Israel & New Breed led an unforgettable evening of music and conversation at the GRAMMY Museum®’s 200-seat Clive Davis Theater.
This sold-out event offered an in-depth conversation exploring Houghton’s creative journey, his musical beginnings, and upcoming projects—followed by a dynamic live performance.
The conversation and program was led by his wife, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton—an Emmy Award-winning television presenter and personality, artist, and entrepreneur—who guided a warm and engaging interview that offered personal insights into Houghton’s artistry, faith, and evolving sound.
Israel was joined on stage by a talented band, including acclaimed drummer Jessie Carabello—whose versatile career involves work with artists such as Marc Anthony—and an extraordinary lineup of guest vocalists. Among them were Adrienne, Lucía Parker and Aaron Moses, all of whom contributed to Coritos Vol. 1. Together, they delivered a powerful set that blended beloved classics with new interpretations rooted in Latin and Gospel traditions.
The standout moments unfolded as New Breed became the first artists to bring Latin Christian Coritos to the Museum stage, featuring selections from Coritos Vol. 1, his latest album, and an exclusive preview of Coritos Vol. 2, slated for release this September.
Two singles from Vol. 1, “Fiel Hacía Mí” and “Coritos de Fuego,” reached the top 10 on monitorLATINO, charting on radio stations in 18 countries. “Coritos de Fuego” has remained in the top 5 for 19 consecutive weeks. The album has played a key role in expanding the genre’s reach across diverse cultures, accumulating 25 million streams.
“Hitting the coritos takes me back to something so beautiful. Even in the spontaneous, raw, and loose moments, that’s what everyone connected with the most. It reminded me why we do this, why these songs matter, and why sharing them now feels more important than ever,” Israel expresses.
“Having Israel & Newbreed perform coritos at the GRAMMY Museum is a powerful moment for Latin Christian music’s cultural and spiritual impact. It was truly a historic moment!,” shares Alexandria Dávila from Adarga Entertainment Group, who co-produced the event.
Viewers can soon access the full interview and performance on the GRAMMY Museum’s YouTube channel.
