Palmer met her little sister, Elliston Rae Heath. She came to us yesterday morning with a healthy cry and a full head of dark brown hair like her daddy. Elliston is just a name we love, Siebe heard it one day and thought it would be cute. The hospital where she was born is on the edge of a little neighborhood in Nashville called Elliston Place, which I’ve always loved. There’s even an old fashioned soda shop there, aptly named Elliston Soda Shop. I can’t wait to take her and Palmer there and sit at the old counter and share a banana spilt. Rae, is my mom’s middle name. It was really important to me to give one of our daughters her name. She’s my favorite woman on planet earth, next to my amazing wife. Who by the way was a CHAMP yesterday through labor and tonight as she bonds with little Elliston. When Palmer met Elliston for the first time this afternoon, as I held her she leaned over the bed and simply said, “hi!” And then Elliston cried. The beginning of a beautiful sisterhood.
