Greenville, South Carolina – Singing News Radio Network has signed on The LifeFM Program Director, Rodney Baucom as the new host for its weekly Southern Gospel Music Countdown Show. Beginning Saturday, August 4th, the newly expanded “Top 20 Weekly Countdown with Rodney Baucom” will air nationally, including a noon broadcast on The LifeFM Radio Network.
Baucom replaces music artist Jeff Steele, who had hosted the Singing News Top 10 Weekly Countdown program for three years. Steele’s touring schedule with his SGM group, The Steeles, had prevented him from continuing with the two-hour syndicated program.
Baucom’s career has been rich in diversity and recording opportunities, since graduating in 1990 with a Broadcast Communications degree from Appalachian State University. His years of interacting with those in the SGM industry led him to eventually cross paths with Bob and Rob McClure from The LifeFM Radio Network. Since 2011, Baucom has been the voice of The LifeFM, a network consisting of 24 stations broadcasted in over ten states.
As Baucom embarks on this new endeavor, he is enthusiastic and optimistic. “I look forward to the fun, and I hope my influence will continue to help grow the Southern Gospel Music industry,” he says.
Baucom, also hosts the Get-Up and Go Morning Show, which can be heard weekday mornings from 6-10 on 103.1FM and 90.5FM in the Upstate.
