News Tasha Cobbs Single is RIAA Certified Gold GMA Feb 6, 2020 9:08:45 AM View this post on Instagram Spirit Breathe on us?… Years ago the Lord gave me an assignment to pray for my Sister and Friend @kierrasheard and cover her as she represented our generation. She had NO CLUE who I was (?) but one day I boldly told her that I was praying for her and the special anointing that was on her life. I had no clue at the time how God would later gift us with an amazing friendship and a chemistry that is sooooo rare!!!! Just a few days before we went in the studio to record Heart Passion Pursuit I had made the decision not to record “Your Spirit.” Not because it wasn’t a great song… but honestly because I felt that I just couldn’t pull it off by myself. I remember being on a flight and hearing Holy Spirit say to me “Go back and listen to the song again. Then text Kierra.” I pulled out my headphones and I heard the song from a different place. Kierra immediately responded that she loved the song and would love to record it with me. Here’s a nugget! Make sure you have friends whose presence gives you courage, boldness and the guts to face those things that seem HARD! Friends who won’t just tell you you can do it, but will stand with you and help you do it!! Kierra, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND!!! We poured our hearts into this song! We had fun together with this song! We Glorified God with this song and in response to that God’s people have been blessed! This song has NEVER been released as a single! We’ve actually never sang it again after the album release! It’s never been marketed! But because God is just God like that… he does what he wants to do when he wants to do it!!! “Your Spirit” is certified GOLD!!! ?… @motowngospel Y’all and these surprises!!! Smh! I’m so grateful for you guys! Last but not least!!! HUSBAND, you are pure genius! Thank you for producing the sound that ministers to the hearts of God’s people! … To my team and everyone who played a part in making this album what it is…Y’all are the best EVER! I can’t thank you enough!. A post shared by Tasha Cobbs Leonard (@tashacobbsleonard) on Jan 31, 2020 at 3:48pm PST
