She also earned three 2026 BET Award nominations, including two nominations in the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award category, plus a BET Her nomination. The recognition follows her first-ever NAACP Image Award win for Outstanding Gospel/Christian Album and two 2026 GRAMMY® nominations for her acclaimed studio album TASHA.
This has been a career-defining chapter for Cobbs Leonard, whose first-ever studio album TASHA debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums, #1 Current Gospel Album, and #1 Top Christian/Gospel Album charts. The project has earned widespread critical acclaim for its genre-blending ambition, threading gospel through R&B, hip-hop, pop, country, and more, while garnering coverage from major national outlets, including a feature on the cover of The New York Times Arts section, as well as praise from Billboard, Essence, PEOPLE, and beyond. The album has also delivered multiple breakthrough moments across radio, streaming, and national television. “Church” featuring EGOT winner John Legend reached #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, and Cobbs Leonard brought gospel to rare mainstream stages with a standout performance at the GRAMMY® Premiere Ceremony and a barrier-breaking late-night performance on Jimmy Kimmel.
