Kicking off at 4pm the competition includes rising stars of all colors, ages and cultures competing in a variety of categories including Soloists, Youth Choirs, Adult Choirs, Praise Dancers, Steppers, Singing Groups, Gospel Comedians, Gospel Poets and Gospel Rappers. The noteworthy gospel concert, beginning at 6:30pm, will feature some of the greatest in gospel music such as Yolanda Adams, Tamela Mann, Donnie McClurkin, Bishop Hezekiah Walker & LFC, Shirley Caesar, the original Dreamgirl, Jennifer Holliday and many more gospel greats. The New York Metro area McDonald’s prides itself in being deeply rooted in the community 365 days of the year. Select McDonald’s Owner Operators throughout the New York Tri-State will host auditions for McDonald’s Gospelfest in their restaurant. “It’s a sincere pleasure to give back to the community to host such great talent who will be auditioning to be a part of McDonald’s Gospelfest. Her restaurant will be hosting McDonald’s Gospelfest auditions for the community later this month.
McDonald’s Gospelfest originated in 1983 under the auspices of the McDonald’s Corporation and the McDonald’s New York Metro Owner/Operator Association. Over thirty years later, it has emerged as the nation’s preeminent Gospel celebration, bringing joy, inspiration, encouragement and hope to millions of Americans. Previous McDonald’s Gospelfest participants have gone on to successful careers in entertainment, including the renowned Bishop Hezekiah Walker.
Over the course of the past 33 years, The McDonald’s Tri-State Owner/Operator Association has awarded millions of dollars in scholarship money. The McDonald’s Gospelfest competition has been an important fundraising event which supports education opportunities within local communities.
