Music Business 104 successfully held its fourth edition on Saturday, January 17 at Escenario 360, further cementing its status as a leading educational platform for artists and music industry professionals. Building on prior editions held in the Dominican Republic and Miami, the conference continues to expand its international reach across the Latin music ecosystem.
Organized by One Music Global under the leadership of Joan Bonilla, the event brought together independent artists, producers, managers, and creators for an intensive, one day program focused on the core pillars of today’s music business. Topics included contracts, rights management, advances, catalog acquisitions, digital distribution, publishing, promotion, and immigration processes for artists.

A standout feature of the conference was its hands on approach. Panelists shared real world examples and current cases drawn directly from their ongoing work in the industry, offering attendees a clear view of how these concepts are applied in active negotiations and business decisions.

Attorneys Alexiomar Rodríguez and George Arroyo led discussions on music contracts, including in depth analysis of advances and catalog acquisitions, breaking down their legal and financial implications. Immigration attorney Karen Scalley provided practical guidance on artist visas and immigration pathways, a critical topic for talent seeking international opportunities.
Executives from The Orchard, Gabriel Dávila, offered a behind the scenes look at how leading global distributors operate, covering digital distribution and publishing strategies and giving attendees direct insight into industry best practices. The role of One Global Music in guiding and managing these processes within the Latin music market was also highlighted.

Journalist Fayra Castro, founder of El Mensaje Comunicaciones, addressed the strategic value of media relations and public relations, emphasizing their role in artist branding, credibility, and long term visibility in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Throughout the conference, Joan Bonilla reinforced the mission behind Music Business 104, stating:
“I have a responsibility to this nation and to this generation to educate and prepare them so they can do good business.” With a program rooted in actionable knowledge, real case analysis, and high value networking, Music Business 104 concluded its fourth edition by reaffirming its position as a key forum for professional development in the music industry, while setting the stage for future regional and international editions.
