After 15 years at Curb Records, VP/Promotion and industry veteran John Butler has resigned his post to join Spotify as Head Of Christian Music, beginning Monday, April 24th.
In his new position based in Nashville, Butler will oversee Christian music globally for Spotify through playlist curation, programming and written editorial and will report to Doug Ford, Spotify’s Sr. Dir./North America, Shows & Editorial, Content & Creator.
Butler’s record promotion career spans 20+ years in nearly every genre of music from Alternative, Hip Hop to Pop. Prior to Curb, Butler served stints as Head Of Promotion for Squint Entertainment (Sixpence None The Richer) and Arista Austin. Before that Butler was based in New York city and served as Dir./Nat’l Promotion at Jive/Silvertone Records after segueing from a similar post at TVT Records.
JB got his start as an intern at WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK in 1990.
