Thank you to our GMA Platinum Member Syntax Creative for sharing about their company.
How was your organization founded?
Syntax Creative began in a bedroom in San Diego with an Akai MPC 3000 and a vision for making meaningful hip-hop that could compete on quality alone. What started as a bedroom production studio turned into a national touring act and eventually a record label with international distribution. Fast forward, Syntax Creative was built to serve independent artists with care, strategy, and staying power. Our CEO, and co-founder, Timothy Trudeau, saw the shift in the industry before anyone had heard of an iPod and led Syntax Creative through it—from cassettes, to CDs, to downloads and now streaming. Today we serve more than 150 labels with global reach, but the foundation is still the same: do excellent work, honor the artist, and build something that lasts.
Tell us about the specific work of your organization, its mission and vision.
We help independent music travel farther and last longer. That means clean metadata, strategic release planning, finding royalties to collect, editorial pitching, and the kind of long-haul support most indies only dream about. We aren’t here to ride trends—we’re here to serve the music and the people behind it. Our mission is simple: We do good work for money. Our vision is a music industry where artists are respected and rights are protected.
What customers/clients do you serve?
With more than 40 Dove Award nominations credited to our roster, we serve independent record labels, legacy rights holders, and frontline artists with a strong sense of purpose. Our reach spans genres—Bluegrass, Hip-hop, Gospel, Rock, Worship, Pop—and includes both seasoned catalogs and brand-new releases. Whether we’re working with a label that has been around since the 1950s or one that launched last year, our commitment is the same: care and clarity.
That clarity has earned recognition. Syntax-distributed artists have taken home Dove Awards across multiple categories, including Southern Gospel, Traditional Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Children’s Music, and Bluegrass. These wins underscore what our partnerships are built on: long-term trust, consistent performance, and music that resonates.
What are the most notable features offered by your organization? We’re not just a platform—we’re also people. Syntax Creative delivers music to every major DSP in the world, but we don’t stop there. We work hands-on with our partners on metadata, editorial pitching, revenue optimization, and release strategy. Our clients know us by name, and we know them by theirs.
Who would best benefit from these features?
Artists and labels who want to grow without compromising their voice. If you’ve built something meaningful and you’re ready to scale—with strategy, integrity, and a real team behind you—Syntax Creative is built for you.
How can people find out more about your organization?
