A church destroyed. A congregation silenced. A relationship shattered. Yet even in life’s darkest valleys, a small flame can light the way toward healing and hope.
In theaters nationwide March 30, 2018, GOD’S NOT DEAD: A LIGHT IN DARKNESS is a powerful reminder that in all circumstances, we are called to be a light for Jesus to a world in desperate need of hope.
GMA: What attracted you to this story and this character?
SH: This story is one of hope and redemption and unity. Getting to reprise my role as Josh Wheaton in this 3rd installment is so exciting because this is a fresh approach to the God’s Not Dead franchise.
GMA: What do you hope audiences take away from this film?
SH: I hope audiences will leave the theatre with hope and love in their hearts. This movie is about bridging gaps and not making them wider. I think more than anything I want people to be left with a sense of healing from this film.
GMA: Tell us about the cast and crew. What was the experience like working with this team?
SH: This cast and crew was incredible. Everyone on the set was so hard working and friendly. It felt like from day one everybody was on the same page about the mission of this movie. It felt like a family on set.
GMA: Any personal takeaways you had from this experience?
SH: I learned a lot working on this movie. It was more than just a job. The personal growth I went through being a part of the project mirrors the overarching narrative of the film itself.
GMA: Why is important for people of faith to support the movie like this by going to the theaters on March 30?
SH: When you see a movie like this it leaves the theatre with you. When you buy a ticket to see this movie you are sharing in a movement much bigger than yourself. The aim of this 3rd installment is to unite and to mend brokenness.
