Grammy® and Dove Award winner Chris Tomlin is celebrating the wonder of Christmas through music, storytelling and worship this holiday season. His fourth full-length Christmas album, Good News Of Great Joy (Christmas Songs Of Worship), releases November 6, followed by the release of his children’s book, Good News Of Great Joy, on November 10 . Tomlin will then bring it all to life beginning November 30 with the launch of his “Christmas With Chris Tomlin: Good News Of Great Joy Tour.”
Good News Of Great Joy (Christmas Songs Of Worship) is available for preorder now HERE. The album’s lead single “It’s Christmas Time Again” is available now across all digital service providers. “This first one is a bit out of the box for me” says Tomlin. “It’s not a quintessential worship song as I would normally write, but it is what sparked the rest of this album for me. When I was writing It’s Christmas Time Again, I was trying to capture the warm nostalgia of spending the Christmas season with your loved ones. I hope that is what this song makes everyone feel.”
Together, this Christmas release and tour experience invite listeners, readers and concertgoers to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the good news at the heart of Christmas.
“The title of the record is Good News of Great Joy. That was the great announcement to the Shepherd's in the field that first Christmas night. I've always said that Christmas started with a song…the announcement of the angels to the Shepherds…praising God and saying “glory to God in the highest.” I can't imagine what that must have sounded like.”
The 11-track album, Good News Of Great Joy (Christmas Songs Of Worship), features new songs “It’s Christmas Time Again” and “The Manger To The Cross,” a reimagined “Joy To The World (Unspeakable Joy),” and Dove Award-nominated “Holy Forever (Christmas).” With 600M global career Christmas streams, Tomlin is CCMG’s highest-streaming male Christmas artist, continuing his tradition of creating songs of worship for the season.
The album shares its title with his new children’s book, connecting two ways for families to experience the meaning of the season.
Written by Tomlin, his children’s book Good News Of Great Joy invites readers to experience the wonder and majesty of the first Christmas night through an inspiring story about a brave, young shepherd. The book, illustrated by Scott Ligertwood, offers families an opportunity to gather, read and reflect on the story of Jesus’ birth. The book will be available at www.christomlin.com.
Tomlin, one of the most successful touring artists in the world, will launch his highly-anticipated “Christmas With Chris Tomlin: Good News Of Great Joy Tour.” The scheduled first night of the tour in Birmingham (Dec 1) has already sold out and a second night had to be added November 30. Tomlin’s fans eagerly await his Christmas tours each year as they bring audiences together for memorable evenings of Christmas music and worship.
