The Creative Arts Collective for Christian Life and Faith (CAC) has officially launched its first competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) with the opening of an online Letter of Inquiry (LOI) form for the 2025 Spring Grant Program. Interested applicants who meet the eligibility criteria must complete and submit the online LOI form by the deadline of December 6th, 2024 to be considered to submit a full grant proposal in the competitive process. The RFP is open to interested individual artists, artist collaboratives, church leaders, scholars/theologians, arts-affiliated organizations, faith-based nonprofit organizations, or institutions who reside or operate in the United States. Eligible applicants may submit proposals with requests ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 that may be used over one year. Chosen LOI applications will then be requested to submit a full grant proposal for the competitive 2025 Spring Grant Program. The 2025 grant-seeking theme is “Performing Shalom.” Applicants are invited to reflect the theme in their project or program, but it is not a requirement when applying for a grant. The grant program seeks to create, educate, and network by supporting initiatives across the nation that create and curate works of art, nurture Christian imagination, and cultivate and sustain a thriving network in Christianity and the arts. Grants will be awarded to support a broad array of projects and programs such as events, performances, and exhibits; commissioning art of diverse forms (including visual, architectural, musical, narrative, live performances, and film); enhancing arts in the church; and capacity building for organizations aligned with the Creative Arts Collective’s aspirational aim. They anticipate awarding up to ten grants per cycle to applicants selected. All proposals will first be screened by internal staff for minimum criteria, and then by an RFP Review Board for consideration and review. They intend to award grants to applicants who submit the most compelling proposals and demonstrate they have the capacity to design, implement, and sustain a quality project or program that advances the Creative Arts Collective’s aspirational aim. Grant opportunities are offered twice a year through its Spring and Fall Grant Programs. |
ABOUT THE CREATIVE ARTS COLLECTIVE: Launched during spring 2024 and housed on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee as a major, nationwide initiative, the Creative Arts Collective is funded by a $32M grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc. The initiative’s mission is to encourage people from diverse contexts to discover and live the beauty and wisdom of the Christian story, and at its core, to encounter God through the arts inspiring awe and wonder. This unique endeavor offers individual grants to help fund a variety of programming that creates and curates new works of art across multiple media, including sacred and popular music, performing arts, digital animation, sculpture, architecture, and more. Each grant is intended to nurture spiritual life through the use of arts, cultivating and sustaining a national collaborative network of artists, theologians, and other leaders. Since its fruition, they have awarded grants to five recipients - The Choir Room, Requiem for Colour, 100 Fold Studio, Creo Arts, and Barefoot Republic Camp & Retreat Center.
