Who: Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and GRAMMY Award-Winning Artist Lauren Daigle.
What: Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) extended the successful ‘Gratitunes’ campaign with a unique partnership with Lauren Daigle for an exclusive concert honoring doctors, caregivers, first responders, and patients.
Daigle recorded six songs exclusively for doctors, caregivers, first responders, and patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt for a special concert event. With the help of Musicians On Call, a nonprofit bringing live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities, the performance was distributed to 19 pediatric hospitals across the country. These hospitals shared directly with patients and broadcasted throughout their facilities reaching over 1,200 patients, families, and caregivers nationwide. The event included performances of Daigle’s hit songs “You Say” and her hit single “Still Rolling Stones”.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Lauren Daigle and all our friends in the music industry for the outpouring of support for our staff, nurses, doctors, patients and families, particularly during these unprecedented times,” said Meg Rush, MD, MMHC, President of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. “Music has always been an integral and important part of the fabric of our hospital, with visits in person, and now virtually, from artists like Lauren, and through organizations like Musicians On Call. Lauren’s healing and inspiring performance uplifted us all and brought smiles to children’s faces.”
Throughout the month of April, the Nashville community came together to bring ‘Gratitunes’ to the medical staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center through performances and words of encouragement on their personal Instagram page. The consumer-generated platform and initiative garnered over 1,200 Gratitunes and 5,000 songs added to the playlist that was made available to VUMC COVID-19 Assessment Sites and hospital staff to help lessen stress and anxiety, and lift spirits.
