Hope Media Group (HMG) is announcing an expanded vision for its Creative Audio Team team as part of a broader strategy to grow its digital footprint, elevate audio storytelling, and better serve the organization’s branding and ministry-driven content. To support this vision, HMG has established two Director-level leadership roles, creating a new framework designed to scale production, strengthen ministry impact, and creative execution for it’s terrestrial and digital brands.
Gary Thompson has been named Director of Production and Audio Ministry. His role is centered on ministry-driven audio, including underwriting and spot production, donor and partner messaging, fundraising support, and compelling audio storytelling that advances engagement and mission. Gary has worked in production, programming, and on-air for the last 12 years at Stephens Media in Tulsa (KMYZ, KXOJ, KTSO, KYAL, Now 94.5, and KCFO). Previous stops include KSOS Las Vegas, WJQK Grand Rapids, and WCVO Columbus.
Kevyn Howard will serve as Director of Imaging and Brand Sound. This role focuses on shaping the sonic identity of Hope Media Group’s brands, including imaging, promos, and the overall audio experience across all platforms. Kevyn brings 25 years of creative imaging and production experience, crafting compelling audio and memorable listener experiences across multiple radio formats. Kevyn’s deep creative expertise includes time at SiriusXM, The Mix Group, Emmis Radio, and CBS Radio Chicago.
While the two Director roles carry distinct responsibilities, they are intentionally designed to function in close partnership. Thompson and Howard will collaborate daily to ensure all Creative Audio needs are met seamlessly— from ministry and donor messaging to imaging and brand sound.
“Gary and Kevyn represent an important next chapter for creative audio at Hope Media Group,” said Jeff Evans, Vice President of Radio. “As our ministry continues to grow across broadcast and digital platforms, we are reimagining how audio can better serve our brands, deepen storytelling, and support meaningful engagement with listeners. Their complementary strengths help position us for where Christian media is headed, building a strong foundation for the future of Hope Media Group’s audio ministry.”
With these changes, Hope Media Group is reaffirming its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and mission- driven storytelling—using the power of audio to engage people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread hope.
