How did you get your start in the music industry?
Life.Church Worship is a collective of worship pastors from Life.Church, which is a multi-site church that meets in multiple locations around the U.S. and globally at Life.Church Online. We released our first album, Fully Devoted, in early 2016 because we wanted to share the songs we were writing with the people in our church. Our hope was that our songs would help people stay encouraged and connected to God throughout the week. As pastors, our songs are heavily influenced by the stories of the people in our church, and it is incredibly meaningful to us to be able to share those songs with the world.
Tell us about your organization, its mission and vision.
As an extension of Life.Church’s mission to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ, we are passionate about creating music that inspires listeners to pursue a relationship with Jesus. Our greatest desire is that our songs would give voice to the prayers of our people and help them express their hearts to the Lord. As we do that, one of the values that guides us is: We are worshippers who build worshippers. We say that because we recognize we have to be worshippers first. It’s only out of the overflow from our personal time of worship that we can lead others to Him. As we worship, God fills us up with what He wants us to bring to His people.
What are the most notable features offered by your organization? Who would best benefit from these features?
As a church, we give away all of our resources for free to pastors and church leaders around the world through our Open Network. We offer resources like sermons, creative artwork and videos, kids’ curriculum, and small group resources from more than 40 ministry partners. For our songs, we give away the backing tracks, lyric sheets, chord charts, lyric videos, and anything worship pastors might need to lead the songs at their church.
We also have a YouTube series called “The Green Room” where we talk about some of the most common topics that worship teams wrestle with like pastoring, heart posture, and all things worship. We’ve been intentional to create it as a resource for worship teams, but a lot of what we discuss is applicable to anyone who is growing in their faith.
