Nashville, Tenn. (January 5, 2022) – Double-Platinum selling, award-winning singer/songwriter, Cory Asbury, whose credits include “Reckless Love” and “The Father’s House”, has signed an exclusive artist management agreement with Maximum Artist Group. The announcement was made by Mitchell Solarek, president of the Nashville-based firm. Asbury joins a roster that includes Gold and Platinum selling, multi-award winners Natalie Grant, Tauren Wells, and producer/writer Bernie Herms, among others.
“Cory is an incredible songwriter and artist who has experienced amazing success over the past few years,” says Solarek. “We are thrilled he’s now a member of the Maximum family and we’re hugely excited to be part of his future.”
Asbury burst onto the top of the airplay and sales charts with his smash single and album, Reckless Love, which has gone on to earn an abundance of accolades, including Gospel Music Association Dove Awards for Song of the Year, Worship Song of the Year, and Worship Album of the Year; a 2019 Grammy® nomination; Billboard’s 2019 Christian Song of the Year; BMI’s and ASCAP’s 2019 Christian Song of the Year (after spending 18 weeks at No. 1). The single was recently certified Double-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales consumption of more than two million units. Asbury has generated over 779 million audio and video streams in the US alone.
“I am incredibly excited to run with Maximum. Mitchell and his team are people of extremely high character,” adds Asbury. “Any time you can find folks with pure hearts for God coupled with a tenacious reach for excellence, you know you’re in good hands. I am confident they’ll help me bring my God-given vision to fruition.”
A native of North Carolina now making his home in the suburbs of Nashville, Asbury is a songwriter, singer, speaker, author, and worship leader. From singing in his local church in his early teens to becoming worship leader at local churches in Kansas City, MO and Kalamazoo, MI, Asbury now commands global stages with his passionate performances and deeply resonating lyrics. His career defining mega-hit single, “Reckless Love”, was inspired by his journey through the birth of his first son and the near loss of his first daughter.
“I feel like this song is a culmination of the latter half of my life,” Asbury told Relevant Magazine in 2018. “When our son was born . . . [a]nd when I held him for the first time, it’s like everything changed. . . . And I remember thinking, man, there’s nothing this little boy could ever make me do to love him any less. And it was through that experience that I began to see [God] rightly . . . And that changed everything for me.”
A prolific songwriter and touring artist, Asbury is gearing up for a hefty load of 2022 dates including the upcoming January events with the KLOVE Caribbean Cruise and “Rock the Universe” festival at Universal Studios Florida. Both late spring 2022 and a fall 2022 tours are in the works.
Asbury lives in Middle Tennessee with his wife Anna and their four children, Gabriel, Lily, River, and Willow-Grace.
