Los Angeles, CA, September 13, 2021 – Jamillah “JAM” Muhammad, top Radio and Music Executive who inspired many throughout her career, passed away peacefully in her home yesterday at the age of 51, after battling colon cancer for four years. Jamillah was surrounded by her mother, sister, niece, longtime partner and close friends at the time of her death. She was most recently Vice President for The Lewis-Kortez Group. JAM has previously held management positions with KJLH (102.3) in Los Angeles; Beasley’s WPEG (Power 98) and WBAV (V-101.9) in Charlotte; Radio One’s Urban AC WMMJ-FM (Majic 102.3) in Washington, DC; Clear Channel’s Urban AC WMXD-FM (Mix 92.3) in Detroit; Urban WKKV-FM (V-100) in Milwaukee; and WVAZ-FM (V-103) and WGCI-FM (107.5) in Chicago.
