The purpose of the Gospel Music Association mentoring program is to help connect knowledge seekers (mentees) with knowledge bearers (mentors). These relationships provide mentees the opportunity to connect in meaningful ways with someone whose past experience can help them navigate both career and life within the gospel music community.
MENTORS: Industry leaders will be identified and sought out to take on 1-2 mentees per year. Mentors will have 15- 20 years of Music Business experience and be a VP or above at their respective organizations with the desire and willingness to pour into the next generation of leaders and gospel music professionals.
MENTEES: Individuals who are in the first half of their career in the music business with a desire to learn and professionally grow through mentorship, networking, and learning from the more experienced industry leaders.
We would ask each mentor and mentee to meet at a minimum of 1 time per quarter for a 12 month period (4 times total) for coffee or a meal. If one or more of the parties are out of Nashville, TN then it would be over Zoom. They are free to continue the relationship beyond that, but that is the minimum commitment. Each party would pay for their own meal/coffee and meet for one hour per meeting.
In addition to commitments outlined above, participants must have an active GMA Professional Membership. If not already, click here to join as a Professional Member.
