GRAMMY® Nominated MercyMe’s Welcome To The New (2014) has been honored with RIAA Gold Certification, marking the sixth gold album for the band in addition to a double platinum album and a platinum video. Welcome To The New earned two GRAMMY® nods, multiple GMA Dove Award honors and an American Music Award nomination. In addition, the album boasts three No. 1 singles with “Greater,” “Flawless” and “Dear Younger Me,” and one Top 5 single with “Shake.” MercyMe is planning to unveil a new record in 2017.
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) honored the songwriters and publishers of Christian music’s most performed songs of the past year at the 38th annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards on Monday, September 26th. The gala, held at Rocketown in downtown Nashville, was hosted by multi-platinum, three-time Grammy-winning contemporary Christian music star Michael W. Smith alongside ASCAP’s President and Chairman Paul Williams and Vice President of Nashville Membership Michael Martin, before an audience of distinguished songwriters, Christian music stars and music industry leaders.
GRAMMY® nominated band MercyMe has unveiled dates for their fall “Greater Than Tour,” kicking off this October, as well as MercyMe, It’s Christmas! set to debut on October 9. The album will mark the multi-platinum selling band’s second Christmas release. The announcements were revealed in the midst of celebrating their second No. 1 hit, “Flawless,” (Billboard’s Christian AC Indicator chart) from the best-selling Welcome to the New project (2014).
