Playing to capacity audiences across the U.S. this spring, the “Newsboys United Tour” will extend its history-making run through the summer, it was announced today.
Kicking-off last week in California, the landmark “Newsboys United Tour” saw sellout crowds throughout the opening weekend.
Members of GRAMMY®-nominated, Platinum®-selling Newsboys took a break from their summer tour schedule to help build homes in Baja, Mexico, last week. In partnership with Baja Christian Ministries and God’s Not Dead Missions, Newsboys’ Michael Tait and Duncan Phillips joined volunteers from around the U.S. to construct two homes for disadvantaged families and lead street evangelism teams in the area. The week culminated with a community-wide fiesta hosted by the God’s Not Dead Missions team, featuring music, food and entertainment.
Newsboys’ iconic anthem, “God’s Not Dead (Like A Lion),” the title-cut from the group’s 2011 best-selling Inpop recording, has been certified Platinum® by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), it was recently announced. Signifying single sales in excess of 1 million units, the award marks a career milestone for the GRAMMY®-nominated mega group and is one of the first Platinum® single certifications in Christian music this year.
