The Christian Festival Association (CFA), a group of the nation’s largest Christian music festivals, announced today that “Brightwork” has been selected the winner of its 2015 CFA National Talent Search Competition. Brightwork had won the regional the talent search competition at Rock the Desert Festival in Midland, Texas last August.
Tonight, the 46th Annual GMA Dove Awards were handed out in 41 categories, as well as 4 special awards. Co-hosted by Erica Campbell and Sadie Robertson, the night drew a record attendance at the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University. Donnie McClurkin’s tribute to gospel legend Andraé Crouch at the recent BET Awards reminded us that we can never under-estimate the power of the Gospel. As the camera panned the audience during McClurkin’s performance of the timeless Crouch classic, “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power” those at home witnessed several in attendance singing along. Some with their eyes closed and some with their hands lifted up regardless of their surroundings, it was evident that the roots of gospel music goes deep.

The awards were held Sunday night, May 31, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, where Pepsi reprised its “Artist to Appear on a Can” award. The winner will be part of a larger K-LOVE can promotion to kick off later this month.

Producer, drummer and Daywind songwriter, Ricky Free, broke his hip last week due to a tumor that had weakened his bone. Through an extensive surgery, the doctors successfully removed the tumor and reconstructed Ricky’s hip. He is facing several weeks of immobility and physical therapy during which time he will not be able to work.
